IVP was established in October 2000 to provide solutions and services to Alternative asset managers. The company now offers various solutions ranging from reconciliation to regulatory reporting to data management for the alternative asset management market.
Elaborating on its reconciliation solution, Recon, Raghav Agrawal, Associate Director, IVP, says that the process of reconciliation is conceptually simple yet operationally complex. IVP Recon is a generic reconciliation system that can be used to reconcile any data. With its Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning features, IVP Recon brings in efficiency and reduces the manual effort.
IVP Recon can be used for reconciling all types of data, including ledger statements, trial balances, and data reconciliation, among others. The data load process is based on IVP EDM, which allows for seamless processing of multiple file formats like Swift, BAI, PDF, CSV, and XLS. “We don’t force our clients to feed the data in a prerequisite format,” states Agrawal.
IVP’s 1-1-1 assurance means that the clients can start to see the platform’s benefits in the first few weeks itself. With over two decades of experience working in the hedge funds industry, the company has added connectivity or standard adapters. Most prime brokers and custodians wish to reconcile data with other firms like banks; on the other hand, IVP’s tool can extract the file and reconcile data rather than analyzing it from scratch. “Alongside speedy reconciliation, we also understand the nuances of these clients because we have dealt with such cases in the past,” adds Agrawal.
Another critical competency of IVP’s solution is AI and ML. Adding a layer of intelligence aims to bridge the gap between machines and humans to reconcile specific data that previously needed human interference. Apart from these features, clients gain the benefit of simplicity and flexibility using IVP’s tool.
Indus Valley Partners (IVP) has been serving the alternative investment industry with flexible and modular solutions that can be tailored to the specific requirements of any fund across strategies and asset classes

IVP recon is delivered to the client both as an enterprise offering as well as a platform. Clients also have the flexibility to choose middle office managed services. This ensures that the reconciliation process combines technology and expertise instead of allocating just manual resources to accomplish daily reconciliation.
To illustrate the effectiveness of IVP’s reconciliation solution, Agrawal cites the example of a hedge fund company based out of London that was facing reconciliation challenges across all their teams distributed globally. All the teams used Excel for reconciliation and lacked a systematic organization of data. IVP came in and analyzed the current gaps in the reconciliation workflow and set up the entire process from scratch in a systemized manner. As a result, the client had more than 50 reconciliations up and running. Also, leveraging AI and ML, IVP enabled the client to boost efficiency by 30 percent.
With such success stories, IVP has a carefully plotted roadmap by launching new versions of its Recon every year with enhancements. The company will continue to unlock value and create insight into alternative asset managers. For the next few years, IVP would continue to invest in the product to ensure that manual effort is significantly reduced in the reconciliation process.
